Below are a list of grants that have been awarded to the City of Kennett in 2025:
Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) Grants:
1. College Street Sidewalk, from North Street to Liberty Street
Project cost $178,175; grant pays $142,540 (80%); City pays $35,635 (20%).
2. Clipper Street Sidewalk, from Walnut Street to College Avenue
Project cost $389,650; grant pays $311,720 (80%); City pays $77,930 (20%).
3. Floyd Street Sidewalk, from Center Street to Whitney
Project cost $402,850; grant pays $322,280; City pays $80,570 (20%).
For each TAP, the City’s portion is paid through Transportation Tax
Indian Park Lighting grant:
$828,000 for new lighting at Indian Park
Grant pays $414,000; the matching $414,000 comes from in-kind labor, in-kind use of equipment, and cash.
Kennett Memorial Airport grant:
$1.5M for construction of 4 T-hangars
Grant pays 95%; City portion is 5%
Demolition grant:
$49,930 awarded to demolish unsafe and unsound properties
Grant pays 50%; City pays 50%
City Officials designated funds in the FY25 budget to meet this match.
